Relatives of Rana Plaza victims get financial help from PM office
GAIBANDHA, Feb 07, 2014 (BSS) – Relatives of two more Rana Plaza victims of Sadullapur upazila got financial assistance of Taka four lakh from the Prime Minister’s office on Thursday.

UNO Ahsan Habib handed over the cheques of financial assistance to the close relatives of the victims at a function held at his office.

Tazul Islam, husband of deceased Bulbuli Begum of Zamudanga village, got Tk 2 lakh while Sumela Begum, mother of Bulbuli Begum of the village and Aduri Begum, mother of deceased Rasheda Begum of Burirvita village of the upazila received Tk one lakh each.

Besides, Shaheda Begum of Gayespur village under Jamalpur union and also wife of victim Azinur Rahman, who was killed in petrol bomb attack during the strike enforced by the BNP led 18-party alliance recently, also got Tk 13,000 and a bundle of corrugated iron sheet from the district administration. 

Upazila project implementation officer Moniruzzaman Monir,upazila women affairs officer Shahnaz Akhrar, head teacher of Sadullapur Pilot High School Ensan Ali, and Bongram UP chairman Fazlul Kaiyum Huda and the journalists were present on the occasion.

The relatives of the victims thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for standing beside them with financial support to mitigate their sufferings caused by Rana Plaza tragedy.

Talking to the BSS, UNO Ahsan Habib said as many as 11 relatives of Rana Plaza victims of the upazila received financial assistance from the PM office last year.
