PM extends Nabobarsho greetings to all Bangalees


DHAKA, April 14, 2014 (BSS)- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today extended her heartiest Bangla Nabobarsho greetings to all Bangalees across the globe on the occasion of Pahela Boishakh, as she expressed the hope that they would start a new journey through this celebration.

“I hope that a new journey for the Bangalees at home and abroad would begin by throwing away the rubbish of the past,” she said.

The Prime Minister said this after exchanging Bangla Nabobarsho greetings with central leaders of Awami League as well as leaders of associate bodies of the party and people of all strata at her official Ganobhaban residence here this afternoon. 

Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League chief, hoped that Bangla New Year would bring happiness, joy and better and beautiful life.

“I wish that life of all be beautiful and successful,” she said.

The Prime Minister said the people of the country including the capital are celebrating Pahela Boishakh with huge enthusiasm and joy. The enthusiasm is increasing day by day, she said, adding that spontaneousness and happiness are prevailing in the life of the people.

Sheikh Hasina wearing a saree of combination of white and maroon colour welcomed the guests at the Banquet Hall of Ganobhaban and exchanged Bangla New Year greetings with them.

The Prime Minister said that from early morning she enquired about the new year celebrations and functions throughout the country so that all could join these functions safely and their desires are fulfilled.

“All the functions centering the Bengali New Year are being celebrated in a very beautiful manner, and the people irrespective of caste, creed, religion and age have joined the Nabobarsho celebrations,” she added. 

Sheikh Hasina hoped that the life of Bangalees across the globe would be bloomed in the light of Nabobarsho. 

Later, the guests were entertained with traditional fruits, locally-made cakes and sweetmeats.
