Two Bangladesh made ships sail to Germany

Two vessels built by Western Marine Shipyard Ltd are set to sail to Germany today, the shipbuilder said in a statement.

Western Marine has handed over six vessels in nine months, according to the statement.

Emswave and Emstide are the fifth and the sixth of the series of eight sister ships that Western Marine built for Grona Shipping GmbH Co of Germany.

These ships are 5,200 DWT ice class multi-purpose ships which comprise all the latest marine technologies.

“This has taken us to the peak of success in this industry,” said Managing Director of Western Marine Md Sakhawat Hossain.

Earlier, Managing Director of Grona Ebbe Prins and Managing Director of Western Marine Md Sakhawat Hossain signed the vessel acceptance and delivery deals.

Western Marine, based in Chittagong, works to make 26 vessels for the local and foreign buyers, according to the statement.
