The relationship with the United States of America is one of the Bangladesh’s most durable and important bilateral partnerships. The two countries enjoy unique ties of culture and history. Economically, the USA has many direct investment, many US government and non-government agencies and organizations are working in Bangladesh. Also Bangladesh is one of largest exporter of ready-made garments to the U.S. These factors combined underline the variety and enduring nature of U.S.-Bangladesh links.
The Bangladesh Embassy works to maintain and broaden this relationship which is characterized by successful cooperation across a wide range of political, economic and security issues. Representatives from the Foreign Ministry and other government agencies manage portfolios concerning economic, commercial and agricultural affairs, consular and immigration issues, customs, transportation, and law enforcement activities, as well as political and military relations, and public affairs.

Hours of Operation
All offices are closed on Saturday, Sunday, and on occasions during holidays of America and Bangladesh.
Embassy operating hours are Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., but some sections/wings of the Embassy may differ.
Receiving time: Applications for services (like issue of new/duplicate passports, renewals and miscellaneous services on passports, visa, NVR, dual nationality certificate, travel permit/document etc.) are accepted between 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Delivery time is between 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. No application is received after 1:00 p.m. except in the cases of emergencies, such as death or illness in the family.
